Invitation CIMUSET Conference 2008 Denmark

Dear colleagues,
We kindly invite you to take part in the CIMUSET conference 2008 in Denmark from the 25th to 31st of August 2008. The conference will take place in Aarhus, Bjerringbro and Copenhagen at the Steno Museum, The Danish Museum of Electricity and the Workers Museum.
The theme of the conference is ‘Museums and Science Centres in Industrial Society’, and each day of the conference has a theme that will be introduced by key-note speakers. The purpose of the conference is to bring new information, debates and point of view to the participants and to give the participants an experience of some Danish museums.
The organising committee of the conference consists of staff members from the Danish Museum of Electricity in Bjerringbro and the Steno Museum in Aarhus. The Danish Museum of Electricity is a state authorised museum that deals with all aspects of the production, distribution and use of electricity in Denmark. The Steno Museum is a museum of the history of science and medicine. It works under and belongs to the University of Aarhus.
CIMUSET is the International Committee of Museums of Science and Technology – a committee of ICOM (International Council of Museums).
